For the updated NHL x SN ident, I was responsible for the full design, modelling, and motion execution of the new logo reveal for Sportsnet. The objective was to create a sleek, modern ident that captured the premium feel of the NHL brand while reinforcing its connection with Sportsnet.

At the core of the piece is a highly detailed custom 3D model of the NHL x SN shield. Rather than relying on a simple extrusion, I manually modelled key areas of the logo to ensure refined bevels and polished transitions around the edges, bringing a heightened sense of realism and craft to the piece. This attention to form allowed for dramatic macro camera moves that showcased the logo’s surface with precision and depth.

To tie the visuals more closely to the sport, I incorporated animated ice crack formations that subtly spread across the surface of the shield. These added an extra layer of texture and motion, reinforcing the physicality and intensity of hockey while maintaining a clean, elevated aesthetic.

The final ident delivered a bold yet refined logo reveal—rich in detail, crisp in execution, and a strong reflection of the NHL’s identity on the Sportsnet platform.
